Ingredients: sugar, cane molasses, glucose syrup, wheat flour, vegetable fats, humectants: glycerol, sorbitol, invert sugar syrup, liquorice root extract, thickening agents: gelatine (pork), agar agar: salt, maize starch, dextrose, acidifiers: citric acid, malic acid, lactic acid, modified potato starch, hydrogenated vegetable oil, flavourings, colours: E104, E120, E122, E131, E133, E163, glazing agents: beeswax, vegetable oil.
Liquorice is a plant, the root of which has been used in medicine for thousands of years. Pliny the ancient Greek writer describes its use in treating colds and asthma. Chinese medicine has long used it for sore throats and it is being thoroughly tested today for many other medicinal uses, it could be the next wonder cure.
